Albert Mikołaj Kozak
W 2018r. uzyskał dyplom z wyróżnieniem na Wydziale Rzeźby Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie w pracowni prof. Adama Myjaka, aneks z medalierstwa w pracowni prof. Hanny Jelonek.
W 2025r. uzyskał stopień doktora sztuki. Od 2018r. dydaktyk na Wydziale Rzeźby Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie. W latach 2018 - 2024 asystent w Pracowni Drewna, w latach 2019 - 2022 równocześnie w Pracowni Rzeźby prof. A. Myjaka. Obecnie prowadzący Pracownię Drewna na macierzystym Wydziale.
Brał udział w wystawach krajowych i zagranicznych, m.in. w Warszawie, Krośnie, Gdańsku, Poznaniu, Barcelonie, Madrycie, Londynie, Nowym Jorku, Tokio i innych.
Laureat wielu konkursów i przeglądów artystycznych, m.in. "MEAM Purchase Award" w 15th International ARC Salon w Nowym Jorku, „The Society Award” w FACE 2026" w Londynie oraz „The Tiranti Prize” w FACE2020, "Mencion de Honor" w Figurativas 2019 w Barcelonie, "Złote Dłuto" za najlepszy dyplom Wydziału Rzeźby ASP w Warszawie, "Nagroda Rektora ASP w Warszawie" za zaangażowanie w pracę dydaktyczną oraz duży wkład w rozwój Uczelni. Finalista w konkursie o Stypendium YES w Poznaniu, finalista w Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize oraz w 18th International ARC Salon. Stypendysta Uniwersytetu w Bergen (Norwegia), stypendysta Rektora Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie. Reprezentant kraju na XXXV FIDEM Art Medal Congress and Medal Exhibition w Ottawie (Kanada). Stypendysta Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego na 2024 rok. Laureat programu miesięcznej rezydencji artystycznej w ramach naboru na 2026r w Centrum Rzeźby Polskiej w Orońsku. Współautor rzeźby i wystroju ściany prezbiterium w Świątyni Opatrzności Bożej w Warszawie (w zespole autorskim z A. Myjakiem i K. Smaczną- Łagowską). Laureat I nagrody w Konkursie na projekt pomnika płk. Ryszarda Kuklińskiego w Poznaniu oraz I nagrody w Konkursie na projekt pomnika Wołyńskiego w Kielcach (obie nagrody w zespole autorskim z Kingą Smaczną- Łagowską).
Jego prace znajdują się w kolekcjach prywatnych, kościelnych i muzealnych w kraju i zagranicą (m.in. w MEAM Muzeum w Barcelonie, DelaArt Collection i innych).
Głównym tematem w mojej działalności artystycznej jest człowiek, którego stawiam najwyżej w hierarchii wartości. Wykorzystując figurę kreuję osobisty obraz przemyśleń poruszając problematykę wartości, człowieczeństwa, czasu, trwania, charakterów czy historii. Czerpiąc z tradycji i budując na niej swoje wypowiedzi, staram się nie powielać utartych schematów, ale nadawać nową - współczesną wartość do często zarchiwizowanych problemów. W procesie twórczym korzystam ze szlachetnego medium, utrzymując stanowisko, iż mówiąc o rzeczach ważnych należy używać ważnych środków. Wartości i charakter materiału są dla mnie równie istotne, co sama forma i treść.
Albert Mikołaj Kozak
Albert Mikołaj Kozak graduated with honours from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2018, completing his diploma in the studio of Professor Adam Myjak, with an additional diploma in medallic art under Professor Hanna Jelonek.
In 2025, he earned a PhD in fine arts. Since 2018, he has been teaching at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. From 2018 to 2024, he worked as an Assistant at the Wood Sculpture Studio, and from 2019 to 2022 simultaneously as an Assistant in Professor Adam Myjak's Sculpture Studio. He currently leads the Wood Sculpture Studio at the Faculty of Sculpture.
He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Warsaw, Krosno, Gdańsk, Poznań, Barcelona, Madrid, London, New York, Tokyo, and elsewhere.
He is the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, including the MEAM Purchase Award at the 15th International ARC Salon in New York, The Society Award at FACE 2026 in London, The Tiranti Prize at FACE 2020, Mención de Honor at Figurativas 2019 in Barcelona, the Golden Chisel Award for the best diploma project at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and the Rector's Award of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw for his dedication to teaching and his significant contribution to the development of the University.
He was a finalist in the YES Scholarship Competition in Poznań, the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize, and the 18th International ARC Salon. He received scholarships from the University of Bergen (Norway) and the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He represented Poland at the 35th FIDEM Art Medal Congress and Medal Exhibition in Ottawa, Canada. In 2024, he was awarded a scholarship by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. In 2026, he was selected for a one-month artist residency at the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko.
He is the co-author of the monumental sculpture and the presbytery wall of the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw (in collaboration with Adam Myjak and Kinga Smaczna-Łagowska). Together with Kinga Smaczna-Łagowska, he received First Prize in the competition for the monument to Colonel Ryszard Kukliński in Poznań and First Prize in the competition for the Volhynia Memorial monument in Kielce.
His works are held in private, ecclesiastical, and museum collections in Poland and abroad, including the MEAM – European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, the DelaArt Collection, and other collections.
The human figure lies at the heart of my artistic practice, as I place the human being at the highest level of my hierarchy of values. Through figurative sculpture, I create a personal reflection on questions of values, humanity, time, endurance, character, and history. Drawing upon tradition while building my own artistic language, I seek not to repeat established conventions but to reinterpret often-overlooked themes through a contemporary perspective.
My work is rooted in noble materials, reflecting my belief that subjects of profound importance deserve equally meaningful means of expression. For me, the inherent value and character of the material are as significant as the form itself and the ideas it conveys.
